DAYTON HOMECOMING is designed to infuse the region with returning and new residents who can contribute to the “renaissance in progress” at a time when all rust-belt regions are struggling to attract talent and grow population. Goals are twofold:
DAYTON HOMECOMING supports the conversations Daytonians are already having with family and friends by serving as a hub of inspiration, information, and connections for:
DAYTON HOMECOMING assists future Daytonians by making professional and community connections before and after arrival. Our network of Sherpas (Click here to Register as a Sherpa)—navigators and connectors—have deep subject matter knowledge and/or extensive networks. We are committed to support future and new Daytonians with introductions regarding industry, non-profit, arts & culture, music, dining and restaurants, interest-areas, hobbies, faith, exercise and wellness, etc.
Further connections happen during two main activities, a monthly Happy Hour and an annual Dayton Homecoming Weekend event.
- Attract and retain motivated talent
- Change perceptions about Dayton and give Dayton a “cool” factor by authentically telling our new story. Ultimately, the goal is for Dayton to become a destination people WANT to relocate to, and not just because they are from here or have been recruited for a position here.
