DAYTON ADVOCATES AND SHERPAS
A Dayton Advocate is anyone willing to share their story and engage their network to inspire them to relocate to Dayton to be a part of Dayton’s renaissance. Have a family member, friend, or friend-of-a-friend, high school classmate who you think should move back to Dayton and should move? We want them to move here too, and we want to help you make it happen!
What does that look like?
Everyone’s approach will be a little different, but the first step is to register so you're part of the Dayton Homecoming Advocate Network:
Are there resources to help me?
Got someone interested in moving but not sure what to do next? Dayton Homecoming acts as a guide connecting you or your future-Daytonian to existing resources to help with: employment options, housing options, incentive programs, moving service recommendations and discounts, shareable fast facts about Dayton, neighborhood advice, connections to others who may have relocated from a location of your focus (e.g. Columbus, NYC, Denver, NOLA etc.), zoom events with community leaders, and answers other questions about the area.
What if I love Dayton but don't have anyone to recruit? BECOME A SHERPA!
In order to support the Advocates and assist future Daytonians, Dayton Homecoming is looking to engage individuals with a deep knowledge of and/or connections in some segment of the community and Sherpas (or navigators). We are committed to support future and new Daytonians with introductions regarding industry, neighborhoods, non-profit, arts & culture, music, dining and restaurants, interest-areas, hobbies, faith, exercise and wellness, etc.
So you're part of the Dayton Homecoming Advocate Network:

Everyone’s approach will be a little different, but the first step is to register so you're part of the Dayton Homecoming Advocate Network:
- Register here and complete the survey questions. They are designed with two main purposes in mind, to better understand what people love about Dayton and to maximize connectivity opportunities around a variety of possible commonalities in order to be able to best support our Advocates and future Daytonians.
- Brief orientation text/zoom/call with Dayton Homecoming team and/or fellow Advocate match (orientation will include connecting via social media and overview of how others have approached advocating, and story capture/share-could just be hashtag/marketing comm guidance)
- If you already have someone in mind that you are inspiring to move, then we have resources to help you help them. If you want to inspire someone to move, we can match you with an advocate network that fits your survey profile.
- Start advocating. Could take a week, or a year. Either way, update us on your progress and know that we and the Dayton Homecoming Advocate Network are here to help.
